Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. On October 21, 2016 she debuted Pho which was her first EP released on the label Dreamville Records. It was at this point that she was first recognized. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on in May 7th, 2019. Ari Lennox began posting her music to the internet in 2012, as she dropped her first mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography In 2013. In 2014, she continued to share her music over the web, including her own launched single Bound. She was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes and in Sweat It Out in July 21st, 2015. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's music references. Then, later in the period, she released music that was circulating throughout Dreamville. The day after Christmas, she reported that she had contracted to Dreamville Records. She was featured on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II which featured the track Backseat alongside Cozz. In the month of October the singer-songwriter released her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song, and performed on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she was able to be a guest on two songs with her label-mates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. The debut single, called Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream hit stores on the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a unreleased music videos. The second single she released was Grampa on the 9th November. Then on November 13 two brand new singles, titled One and Pedigree. One and pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby in November 16, and then made the track available as a single by herself for her first album. A music video was released on 20 February 2019 to go along with the track. Within the first week, the video had more than 3,000,000 views. In December of 2018 the singer was a part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
